The right participants are out there. Our patient recruitment services can find them.
Clinical trial patient recruitment
Most trials don't fail because the science isn't there. They fall behind because the right people never found them.
Up to 80% of clinical trials fail to meet their recruitment goals.1 Many studies that we meet with have tried traditional tactics or running digital ads on their own, and neither approach has moved the needle fast enough. The clock is ticking, and the pressure is real.
We’ll assess what's working and what isn't, and build a recruitment strategy grounded in who you're actually trying to reach, meeting them where they’re at with messaging that’s empathetic and relevant.
Thinking about recruitment differently
Recruitment messaging in clinical research often leads with eligibility requirements. Listing age ranges, health conditions, medications, and lifestyle criteria is accurate, but it skips something essential: the person on the other side of that ad is being asked to give their time, their data, and sometimes their comfort to a study they know very little about.
We start by mapping that person's journey. What are they thinking and feeling about their health condition or the treatment being studied? What are they seeing and hearing from their doctors, their families, and the internet? What would need to be true for them to say yes?
From that foundation, we build recruitment messaging that's empathetic, relatable, informative, and designed to earn trust before asking for anything. This approach brings in more applicants who already understand what participation involves, which supports higher eligibility rates and informed consent.
What we do
We offer digital and offline recruitment support, tailored to the complexity of your trial, and recruitment requirements.
Our discovery process starts with a conversation about your inclusion and exclusion criteria, the potential size of your eligible population, your geographic recruitment area, and your timeline. We then assess which channels and approaches make sense for your specific study population.
When digital advertising is the right tool, we typically build multiple sets of ad creatives that speak to different aspects of your target participant's mindset. We test, optimize, and rotate creative regularly to keep audiences engaged. We can adjust budgets, pause campaigns, and change tactics quickly, which matters when a trial's needs shift mid-recruitment.
We also build recruitment messaging toolkits and strategies your team can deploy through community channels, clinical networks, and partner organizations. These tools support offline tactics, which still play a critical role in building trust and meeting recruitment goals.
Our Results
We've supported recruitment campaigns for clinical trials studying vaccines, lifestyle interventions, and women’s health, including work with HeLTI Canada and the University of Sherbrooke. We're also developing a projections framework that helps research teams model how eligibility complexity and timelines affect the volume of digital leads required to meet their enrolment targets. We'll be sharing more on that soon. Check out our portfolio for other clinical trial recruitment work we’ve been a part of.
Who we work with
We work with principal investigators, research coordinators, and academic health institutions primarily in Canada, with experience in Edmonton's research community. We understand the complexities of clinical research and the care required to communicate with potential participants honestly and effectively.
If you're mid-trial and behind on your numbers, or planning ahead for an upcoming study, we'd love to hear about it.
